Fela Opening Night/Holiday Extravaganza

What a night!  I just got home from Fela’s opening night party and boy was it one not to be missed.  Although I do think Jay-Z and The Smiths missed it.  The music of Fela Anikulap-Kuti exploded from the sound system at Gotham Hall.  Huge Mazel Tov to our client, the lady of the night Lillias White.  She plays Funmilayo, Fela’s women’s rights activist mother and is quite simply amazing in this role.  Speaking of Lillias, she is performing at The Granite Room at City Hall Restaurant for two performances on New Year’s Eve.
