The weather has been pretty up and down lately, cold days mixed with sunny skies, but I guess it’s better than living anywhere else outside of NY. One of the beauties of a NYC winter day is that you can’t keep people inside for too long without going a bit stir crazy. There’s simply too much to do We are currently working on a few new shows and will announce them soon. But currently My Sinatra has had really nice crowds for Cary Hoffman’s piece about an obsession with his role model whom he sounds awfully similar to. It’s playing for three more performances at The Triad, so check it out by going to mysinatra.com or for tickets go to www.smarttix.com. It’s definitely a date night show. Speaking of having a date, Lillias White will perform her Valentine’s Day show at Midnight on the 14th at The Iridium jazz club in Times Square. It’s going to be a phenomenal Jazz performance like you’ve never seen before. Tickets can be found at www.ticketweb.com for only $25.00! The change in weather and spirit of NY also make me appreciate how easy we sometimes have it. So on a personal note, I encourage everyone to donate money, clothes, or other goods to the Haiti fund that you like best. If you haven’t stepped up to the plate yet, there is still time. The Triad is producing an amazing fundraising show Monday, January 31st at 7:30pm. All proceeds go to The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and The American Red Cross, and it only costs you $10.00! Lillias will be singing with other Tony Winners Adriane Lenox and LaChanze. There are many other Broadway stars including Tyrick Wiltez Jones, Titus Burgess, and Kecia Lewis-Evans. For reservations please go to www.triadnyc.com

Everyone says they can’t believe it is 2010 already here. I can’t believe it hasn’t come sooner. Last year seemed to fly by so quickly, and I have a great feeling that this is the year for live entertainment to truly impress, enrich, and educate all of us. I, of course saw several beautiful and charming films this holiday season including Precious, Avator, and Up in the Air. But I do believe that it will be the power of live events that will really inspire people to pursue their own creative endeavors. Broadway is having and will continue to have a big year. Fela! is going strong, as are our friends over at Next to Normal and Rock of Ages. With revivals like A View From the Bridge, Present Laughter, The Miracle Worker, and Promises Promises all opening soon or fairly soon, we have a lot to look forward to. Also Sondheim on Sondheim, Spider-Man, and Love Never Dies (the new Phantom of the Opera sequel) in the musical mix throughout the year make us think about how diverse Theater really can be. I’m especially excited to work on a great new Off-Broadway show called Brother Can You Spare a Dime. It’s a fantastic and beautiful musical review about the Great Depression and the hopes and struggles that permeated the entire country and the world. We are hoping that this 2010 brings you a year where you can commiserate with these notions, while growing more and more successful as the economy grows and grows, which we know it will. Take a look back at our new website (great job Josh!) as we have some new exciting projects and the return of some critically acclaimed ones as well.

New York, October 1, 2009 – Kate Dawson presents the second encore return of her wildly successful show The Asshole In My Head, her hysterical one-woman show told through stories and song. Directed by Don Amendolia (33 Variations, Stepping Out, My One And Only) with Musical Direction by Doug Oberhamer (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Swing). This limited run of 4 performances will begin at The Triad on October 25th at 7:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased at www.smarttix.com

Like thousands of other hopefuls, Kate Dawson, arrived in New York City from Champaign, IL with dreams of “making it big.” Things started out pretty swell. She landed an agent and a slew of high profile shows. But the work wasn’t consistent, and she was slowly dying a little inside. She quit her agency, put away her headshots and sang along to EVITA only in the shower. The voice in her head just seemed to say, “I suck!” But, it didn’t stop there. It challenged her to look fear straight in the eye and say “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going!“ And thus began the battle, Kate versus the Asshole… Will she win? Will she succumb to the voice? Will you buy your tickets please?

The Asshole In My Head is written by and stars Kate Dawson (A Christmas Carol); with Collaboration by Lauren Cohn (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody).

The Asshole In My Head will be performed on the following schedule at The Triad (158 West 72ND Street) Sun, Oct 25 @ 7 PM; Mon, Nov 9 @ 7 PM; Fri, Nov 13 @ 9:15 PM;Sun, Nov 15 @ 8:00 PM. All tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.smarttix.com or at 212-868-4444

NOVEMBER 22

New York, NY, September 22, 2009 – Dolcissimo, an exciting new vocal group specializing in classical, light opera and Broadway show music will debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall on November 22nd at 7pm performing “STARLIGHT” an evening featuring works by Puccini, Verdi, Bizet, Lehar, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Kern, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Donizetti and Shemer.

Dolcissimo, an emerging and sophisticated musical troupe known for its heart-throbbing romantic songs and classical melodies is comprised of Esty Tzabar Crisona (Soprano), Dmitri Shevelev (Tenor), Yury Viderman (Tenor), Konstanstin Stepanov (Tenor), Vago John Ohanyan (Baritone and Music Director) and Itay Goren (Piano).

Dolcissimo is a business and artistic collaborative venture between Ms. Tzabar Crisona, Israel’s first winner of the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest and owner of EAJ Productions (www.eajproductions.com) and Mr. Shevelev, owner of My Chess Family (www.mychessfamily.com), who joined their two companies as investors and producers – as well as performers – in this powerful music venture.

“It all started when I met Esty,” says Dmitri, recalling the evening when he first heard her sing at the NY Synagogue. “After that everything was magical – as if things were predestined to happen in the amazing way they’ve turned out.”

The musical talents of Dolcissimo’s highly gifted members blend perfectly, bringing total harmony to the group’s performances. Esty, trained as a classical singer, has an irresistible, angelic voice with a wide vocal range. She came to the U.S. from Israel with impressive credits as an international singer and dancer, having performed in a number of European productions.

A daughter of a father who was an opera singer, Esty’s dream had long been to sing in concerts with four other opera singers. That vision became a reality when, after performing in concerts with Dmitri, the two decided to recruit the three other wonderful talented singers that make up the group and Dolcissimo was born.

Dmitri, the son of two classical pianists, was born in Russia and began singing at the age of six. Before coming to the U.S., he was with the New Israeli Opera for four years.
